A message from Prescott. Arizona, says that when the monoplane “Yankee Doodle.” flying from Los Angeles to New York, was attempting a west to east trans-continental record, she crashed in the Crook Canyon, on Saturday night. Captain Charles Collyer, the pilot, and Harry Tucker, owner of the plane, were killed. Ten clays ago Captain Collyer created an east to west record, doing the journey in 24 hours 51 minutes. He also was the holder of the round-the-world trip record in 23 days 15 hours 21 minutes, which he completed on July 22nd. last.
