Thirty-two pirates, disguised as deck passengers overpowered tlic view within si i'll t of Hankow, killed the Chinese clerk and wounded one of the crew and an American passenger. The loot totalled twenty thousand dollars. The pirates, who were ex-soldiers, letb |>v n launch which followed the Sha-si. The latter returned to Hankow where the wounded were taken to a hospital.
