ROME, Nov. 4
Almost incredible scenes of delirious enthusiasm marked the conclusion of a speech by Signor Mussolini, which wound up the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Italy’s decisive victory over the Austrian invaders.
An immense crowd filled the Plaza Venezia at Rome, when Signor Mussolini spoke, briefly recounting Italy’s losses and her heroisms. He added: “I will ask you a, question, but think well before you answer. ” He then pointed to King Victor Emanuel’s statue and proceeded: “Remember, lie sees you! The Unknown Soldier is listening! Mould you do the same to-morrow, if necessary?” The crowd responded with a great roar.
Signor Mussolini concluded: “Then carry the echo of your solemn oath to every corner of the country! A'ivu Italia!”
Seventy thousand ex-service men participated in the processions. The city was decked with flags. To Bourns” was sung, and salutes were fired in concluding the celebrations.
