A lire at an early heur this morning totally destroyed the entire motor store owned by the Dominion .Motors lad in Stafford street. Tito damage amounted to hundreds ol pounds. !he store which was on Hie second iloor, va.s divided into two sections, one being lor new cars and the other lor secondhand cars. Tiie lire had its origin in that part ol the building, containing the new tars, ten ol which licit 1 eitliei dost roved or seriously (uunagod. lin cause oi the outbreak is uiikuoiin.
Insurances on ibe Iniilding were: ijp/jijO in the Yorkshire; .stock. C2,o()0 in the Yorkshire; LTdt) in the Sun: e,-;(),)() in the Royal Fxcliange. Ihe damage is estimated at LTOOO.

Frederick Bohcri AValler. a retired farmer, was lined CIO and his license was endorsed, for being in charge ol a car while in a slate of intoxication. Tim Magistrate issued a warning that if p|j s class of offence continued increasing locally, he would adopt the rule of giving a term of imprisonment in all cases, without the option.

HAMILTON". Nov. 3. An ox-s.ohlier oi the English Ait iMirce. aged 27. pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court to-day to attempting to suicide by using poison. He had been injured twice in the war by crashing and he limped into Court with a voung wile, a New Zealander. The evidence showed that the accused, though lie is supported by lii.s parents in England, has been greatly depressed hv his inability to obtain employment as a mechanic. ||c was convicted and discharged.
