Tom Walsh entered upon his duties to-day as General So ret ary of the Seamen’s Union ol Au tralia.
No attempt was made to obstruct him. but his reception by the minor officials was a frigid one. SYDNEY, Oct, 31.
Later in the afternoon. Mr Mulsh was compelled to seek a. police guard of two detectives and one uniformed constable. Ail angry seaman called out across the road to Walsh: “PH get you yet!” Air Walsh found that the office books had all disappeared to a branch office. Tie informed Air Fleming. Branch Secretary, that he intended to have them brought hack to headquarters. ATr Fleming denied shift., g the books to the branch office.
