The Waterside Federation to-day asked Chief Judge Dethridge in the Aribtration Court to compel shipowip ers to observe pick-up places mentioned in Judge Beeby’s award. Judge Detliridge ruled the clause did not apply to non-union labour, and the shipowners were quite ' within their legal rights in picking up men outside the Federation at whatever places they prescribed. A similar application in regard to Brisbane was dealt with in the same way.
