MR SEDDON IN MARSDEN DISTRICT.
Mr Seddon was in the Marsden district yesterday, visiting South Beach, Boddytown arid other ’ centres. At night Mr Seddon addressed a good meeting at the school room, Paroa, Mr B. Sumner being in the chair, The political address was listened to attentively, and at the close one question affecting, a local matter, was asked. A vote of thanks was carried by the meeting on the ifiotion of Mr H. Stokes; seconded by Mr J. Baker. '

Declaring' himself ah independent Reformer,! he said he always had been that, also be had an opportunity to put the Government out of office in 1925, when it had a majority of only two-, but he kept his pledges and. maintained! the Government in preference to extreme Labour. He was out mainly' to fight extreme Labour. The Reform Party was not always in the right but could best be trusted to take the right course.
ASHBURTON, Oct. 31. J. Connolly, United candidate for Mid-Canterbury addresed a large meeting last evening. He advocated the purchase of small areas and the cutting of them into twenty, acre blocks as a corrective to the drift to towns. He also supported anagrieultural bank.
