Portius, Head of- Somerset wireless station, received the Mauretania’s message stating; she-Was in communication with the zeppelin at 2.19. The message stated :. “ All O.K. He thinks he is a bit north, and not more than fifty miles away. Our position at noon 45.53 north. -41:40 west. Moderate south-east gale.”
MAKING PROGRESS. (Received this day at 11.25. a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 30. Reliable information this afternoon indicates' 'the Zeppelin is about six hundred miles east of north-east of Ctipe Race* on (the , northern steam route, encountering a moderate southeast gale. The. position is exactly on tlx© Great Circle route, New York to Loudon, and slightly: in excess of half way.
STOWAWAY ABOARD AIRSHIP.
BERLIN, October 29
A correspondent of the “ Tageblatt ” aboard tlie Zeppelin has sent a wireelss message that a stowaway in the person-of an American youth, aged 17, was discovered four hours after the airship’s departure.
TRANS-ATLANTIC FLYING. FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. OTTAWA, October 29. Mr A. J. Wilson, Controller of Civil Aviation in Canada, has returned from Britain and Europe. He sees a strong possibility of an all red air route around the world iu future, saying that enormous developments in inter-Em-pire communication ’ may be expected within the next few years. While the efforts so far had to some extent been concentrated on flights to India and Africa, the British fliers were now turning towards Canada, said Wilson. He had seen both the enormous dirigibles, R.IOO and R.lOl, which would he ready early in the spring for transatlantic. flights to Montreal, and lie had discussed the contemplated flights with English air officials.
