(Received this day'at -9.25. a. mCAPETOWN, October 30. ' Lieut. Murdoch, who crashed in the wilds of Congo, when returning to England,in aft Avro," in which he flew in August from London, had a terrible experience crossing the ftioufttaiiis in North ICasanga, when a, terrific down current of air swept the . machine against the face of a/ mountain. Whipping the throttle full open Murdoch held the plane and flew a few. feet above tlie bush and made for Kloof, which was full of dead air. A tree cut a wing and the machine turned turtle. His'belt broke and the tank cut his shins to the one as he crawledthrough the flames. He dragged himself twenty miles to a native village. A ■ missionary travelled all night to reach him and saved his life.
