THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
Watering It Down. When criticising the Labour Party’s platform at -his Berhampore meeting a few. days ago, Mr F. Luckie, tlie Reform candidate, read an extract from a newspaper edited by Mr Holland in Australia just before he came to New Zealand. The candidate considered the extract to he of an extremely Communistic nature. An interjector claimed this was not in the Labour Party’s platform as issued now. Mr Luckie saidthe was quite aware of that, and it was commonly known that that party watered down its policy considerably when it came bfore the electors to seek their suffrage.
