GENERAL ELECTION
• MR SEDDON AT KUMARA
Yesterday Mi* Seddon continuing his electioneering tour visited Kumar a Junction in the forenoon and Dillmans in the afternoon. At night he addressed the electors at his native town, Kuinara, there being a good attendance. Mr A. B. Spiers, Mayor, presided and introduced the candidate. Mr Seddon expressed pleasure at returning to the place of his birth and meeting many eld friends and supporters. They had taken him as their member in 1906 when he was but 22' years of agef and he was asking again for the renewal of that confidence. Hp then spoke along general lines but dealt specially with the sawmilling industry and gold mining. He referred also to land settlement, finance and borrowing, and concluded by touching on several local matters. The address was listened to very attentively and there was not any attempt at interrup tion. - . question was asked, namely ■lii respect to the candidate’s attitude on a no-eonfidence motion, Mr Seddon repeating his former statements and stating he would" act as he had promised on last election, and which promise had been carried out. Mr J. Reedy proposed a vote of thanks and confidence and Mr H. Witherington seconded. This was carried'on the ..voices, and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to tne chairman Ifor presiding.

NOMINATION SURPRISE. WELLINGTON, October .30
The eleventh-hour surprise was the nomination of Mrs Young for Wellington Central as an Independent Labour candidate. .. She is the wife of Mr W. {\ Young, well known in connection with the local Seamen’s Union. He himself tpld the audience that he knew nothing about it, and he urged his hearers to support Peter Fraser.
