The Italian Consul, Cavalicre Mario Caifos, .incensed at the boirv.b outrage's to-day, declared the Italian community was enormously excited, and demanding drastic measures for the protection of Italian workers. Caros added that this was the fifth attempt on the lives of my people. T therefore demand full satisfaction foi mv countrymen. My Government is not disposed to tolerate the failure to adequately protect Italian residents in Australia. If action is not taken immediately, they will be forced to take measures to protect themselves. The Police Commissioner said the police were straining every nerve to stop the outrages. Cabinet to-morrow considers raising tlie reward from five hundred to a thousand sterling for information leading to the conviction of the bomb throwers. Two more Italians were admitted to the hospital to-day as the result of rioting.
