FRENCH BAN ON INTER-CLUB

PARIS, October 25. The Tennis Federation’s ban on in-ter-club tennis is upsetting the schedule for the Riviera Tennis Club’s
meeting at Monte Carlo
It has been
decided that the Monaco tournaments kbe carried out on the old courts,' instead of the new ones situated in French territory. Other clubs 'are sending letters to the Federation point- . ing out that losses amounting to thousands sterling are involved in the prohibition." Failing a favourable reply, they will appeal to the Govern■fc ment, on the ground that they have regularly paid taxes for three years. If the matter is not settled satisfactorily, the clubs say the tournaments will be played in Italy:
RAIN STOPS TENNIS. CHRISTCHURCH, October 20. Owing to heavy rain, the tennis match, England v. South Island, has beerv postponed. Players will now stay in till Monday. The courts at Wilding Park are flooded.
