A ANOTHER RAILWAY SMASH
A HEAD-ON COLLISION.

(Received this day at 8 a.m.) LONDON, October 25. October’s fifth railway smash occurred at three o’clock this morning north of Carlisle, when a double-header ex-
press from Euston to Aberdeen collided vhend on with a (freight train. Two drivers and two firemen were killed and the number injured is unknown. Tlie main line is blocked with wreckage.
FURTHER. PARTICULARS.. (Received this day at 9.25. a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 25. It appears that the express overtook the freight train under the,luckiest circumstances. Four of the leading vehicles on the express were fruit vans. These with the pngines -t toppled over into a field, the .carriages remaining upright. The passengers simply walked out as their injuries were of the slightest.
