LONDON, Oct. 23
Air Frederick GilfiUen, a wealthy American, who, was one of the Graf Zeppelin’s'' passenger, across the.' Atlantic has returned by the Mauretania. He denounces the Zeppelin’s flight as a scandal. ; He says that fifty times or more the Zeppelin made a sudden plunge .i,seawards and thereafter was engaged in painfully climbing to- a safe height. The passengers thought that they would never arrive... He says 'the administration was shocking. The food and wine were not sufficient. The passengers.- suffered the greatest discomforts. They were flung about the ship like ninepins. There was only one parachute, and no other safety appliance was carried. He was. of the opinion that there would have been no passengeis at all had anyone realised the grave danger that they ran. He was not allowed to use his camera and he had to sign an agreement to ' say nothing about the flight until a considerable time had elapsed. • Air Gilfiillen -described.
