AUCKLAND, Oct. 24
Archibald Tremball, 22, (a butcher), died at the hospital from injuries caused by a dog causing his motor cycle to skidj the fall resulting in serious injuries.

The charge against George Henry Harper, who was arrested at \Vhakaronga on Sunday while throwing missiles at passing motor cars was withdrawn in the Court this morning the police stating accused has been identified as an escapee from a mental hospital, whither lie has been returned.
NEGLIGENT DRIVING. DANNEVIIIKE, Oct. 24
James Hurren, a travelling salesman, was charged before Magistrate J. Miller with having driven a motor car negligently. ' Accused on July 29th on a perfectly straight road between Norsewood and Takapau, ran into a car travelling in the opposite direction. It was alleged he was on the wrong side of the road. The Magistrate said there was no reason at all for the accident. The case has been proved to the hilt. Defendant was a menace to the public and he would be fined £2O and his license cancelled for one year. He had pi’eviously at Gisborne been fined £25 for a breach of the motor regulations.
AN INQUEST. AUCKLAND, October 24. Edward Williams, aged 47 years, a bridge inspector of the Government Railways, while undergoing an operation for quinsy, collapsed under chloroform. At , the inquest to-day a daughter of the deceased said her father returned home from holidays on Friday last. He bad been ill in Blenheim and since his return he bad been very ill, and w r as attended by a doctor. The inquest was adjourned.

STRANGE DROWNING FATALITY CAMBRIDGE, Oct. 24.
About six o’clock last evening a sad fatality occurred at Rotorangi, on the farm of John Davidson, about five miles from Cambridge, when Rudolph Adderlv, single, aged 43 years, was found drowned in a deep drain at the back of the farm. About five o’clock the deceased went to round up the cows far milking. As he did not return in a reasonable time Davidson instituted a search and discovered the body of deceased lying in about two feet of water. Life was extinct. Artificial respiration was unsuccessful. When the body was examined a bruise was observed on the forehead.- It is supposed that deceased slipped when crossing the drain and struck his head on the opposite side, then falling back into the water.
SOLICITORS TRUST ACCOUNT, CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 24.
In the Magistrate’s Court to-day Percival L. C. Inder and Samuel Ernest McCarthy, of Christchurch, solicitors, were charged with not hanking certain sums ranging from £1 10s to £5 in a separate trust account. There were three separate charges against each defendant. The hearing was adjourned till Friday.

Obituary.—Revd. Peter Ramsay, Presbyterian Minister at Hastings, for twenty years. He retired last year on account of failing health.
