At Madison Garden, Ouafi, the Arabian king of Olympic runners, covered 26 miles 400 yards in 2hrs 44min., defeated Joie Ray by three laps. It was Ray’s first professional Marathon of fifty in his career. He kept on Ouafi’s heels for 23 miles, the other contestants being miles oeiiind.
