MISSING BOYS.

AUCKLAND, Oct. 23

Four boys, three of whom reside at Mount Eden, and the fourth at Ivingsla.nd, are missing from their homes. They are John McCulloch Morrison, 17; Frank Jackson, 18; Harry Anderson, 15; Ernest Howard Gilbert, 15.

Jackson’s father received a letter from his son in Wellington, dated Oct. Ist., stating he intended leaving for Australia. It is not believed that the boy left for Australia. They had little moey when the left home.

HOUSE BURNT,

AUCKLAND, Oct. 23.

A five-roomed house at Papatoetoe, owned by F. Thompson, and the contents were destroyed by fire on Monday afternoon. The house and furniture was insured for £950.

DRUNKEN DRIVER. MARTON, October 23. ( Geoffrey Norman Butcher, a motor mechanic, of Wellington, was fined y £lo and his current license cancelled for being intoxicated in charge of a car and £5 for failing to have a silencer on the machine exhaust yesterday. Residents of Marton district were seriously disturbed by the roar of Butcher’s machine on the highways on Sunday. A witness testified that some thought an aeroplane was in the vicinity.

INJUNCTION REFUSED

CHRISTCHURCH, October 23

Judge Adams this morning heard a case in which the Vacuum Oil Coy. Proprietary Ltd. of Wellington sought an injunction against National Service Stations, Ltd., Christchurch, with the object of preventing them /mixing Plume motor spirit with a mixture and. sold as Canterbury Automobile Association spirit. Plaintiff alleged that defendant mixed petrol and as a result the mixture came to be regarded as superior to Plume. rtio Judge held plaintiff had not established the right to an injunction and dismissed the case with costs.

Obituary—.T. A. Fitzgerald, ex-head-master of the Ala or i Hill School .at Dunedin, for 20 years. As he stepped out of a carriage on the platform at the railway station to say farewell to his son, Dr Fitzgerald, he collapsed and died two minutes u<aer.
