Passengers by'the Niagara from Sydney included a young married couple, Mr and Mrs Walter Alervyn Shippard, ivho tell an extraordinary tale of hated rival’s kidnapping of the bride of tivo days, and an exciting chase in a motor car. Sheppard traced a wire to a house in Bellevue Hill, ivhere he states lie found his ii'ife locked in a room. After he had gained entrance and was carrying his wife to a waiting taxi he was attacked, but avrs permitted to get away on a threat to shoot, though lie had no firearms.
