DUNEDIN, October 19
Tn the New Zealand Golf Championships, when play commenced to—da\ for the final of the professional championship and the semi-final oi the amateur. the conditions could hardly have been worse. There was a driving rain, and with snow on the adjoining hills, the temperature was icv. The course was very wet and the greens were very sodden. Under such adverse conditions, excuses might have been made for an indifferent display ot golf, but, on the contrary, there rs nothing hut praise for the magnificent display of golf, given by the two professionals, A. J. Shaw and J. Mcln-
Horton and K. Boss
The result of to-day’s play is that the 1928 professional champion is A. J. Shaw, and the issue of the amateur lies between T. IT. Horton and J. L. Black.
Driving.—individual drive, Sloan Moriieth, 297yds; two drives, Sloan Morpeth, 535yds.
