MR VEITCH OPENS CAMPAIGN WANGANUI. October 17.
In opening his election campaign tonight, Mr W. A. Veitch, United Party candidate 'for Wanganui, confined himself to an account of his stewardship as representative in Parliament. He said he would deal with policy more fully at a later date. He declared that though a firm believer in the Christian faith, he had not changed his views on the subject of the Bible in schools, which he still opposed. He said Reform had developed into a Tammnay Party. What was wanted to solve the unemployment problem was more British capital developing this country’s resources.
In reply to a question, the speaker said that in the event of a no-confi-dence motion in the Coates Government, he would not vote to make Mr Holland Prime Minister.
