TR OTTJNG PENALTIES

CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 19
In connection with the statement published on Wednesday that no penalty would be inflicted on any New Zealand Trotting Cup horses winning events nl the Greymouth . Trotting Club’s meeting, the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club wishes it to be understood that it is not a party to any such arrangement, and in the event of a horse putting up a performance that Avould entitle it to a penalty it would certainly expect its handieapper to use his discretion and rehandicap the horse, if he deemed it necessary. LONDON, October 18. Middle Park Stakes.—Costake Pasha 1, Grand Ten-ace 2, Brienp 3. Thirteen started. Won bv a length and a-lialf • a length separating second and third.
