CHICAGO DOCTOR’S STATEMENT

Cancer which kills one hundred and twenty-five thousand Americans annually was discussed by six leading authorities at the Medical Convention.
Doctor Mayo announced the appointment of a committee charged with the duty of forming a cancer clinic Chicago, which will be one of a network throughout the country, others being established in Boston, New York 'and other American cities. The leaders declared that hereditary was the dominating factor in cancer.
Dr Mayo believes that some clay, maybe- soon, a positive cure may /be discovered.
In his garden at Rochester, Dr Mayor produced cancerous growths in strawberries. He trained plants to resist the disease and made , others subject to it. He declared:—“We find sixty-five per cent of all humans die of disease which killed our ancestors. Some day there will be scientific breeding of humans and then cancers may wither away.” He added that" when there were stomach pains, they should send the patient to a laboratory for cancer search. Sores on the tongue must be given examination if they did not heal quickly. Lumps anywhere on the body should be explored surgically.
