ALL SAINTS TENNIS CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. ' 1 . • ; • . . • The annual meeting of the above Club was held at rthe pavilion on Tuesday last at 5. p.m. The Revd. AVright presided over a large attendance of members. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed, i The President submitted a compre- t hensive report dealing with both the social and the financial aspects of the Club’s progress and pointed out that the Club had experienced the most satisfactory season in its history. The liability of the Cluib was, at the close of (the 1927-28 season, only £B, and this sum has since been considerably reduced. He congratulated the Club on the satisfactory state of affairs existing and predicted an even more successful year ahead. The report and balance sheet were their received and adopted. The membership at‘the close of the. season was 34 ladies and 30 gents, and in view of this fact it was deemed tidrisnble not to accept any further applications for membership. A motion to this effect was put to the meeting and carried unanimously.
v ELECTION OF OFFICERS. 'Hie election of officers for the coming season then took place with the following result:— President—Revd. Wright. Vice-Presidents —Messrs D. J. Evans, AV. E. Williams, H. M. Coulson, J. B. Ward and Honl H. L. Michel (all re-elected). Club Captain—Mr TT. Osmers. Vice-Captain—Mr „T. G. Telfer. Treasurer—Ml J). B. Ward (reelected). -
Secretary—My W. /Chetwynd (reelected).
Assistant Secretary—Mis 0. Stapleton.
Committee—Misses Blair, HaUiday, Seebeck and A. Stapleton, and Messrs Osmers, Telfer, Butland and Preston. At the conclusion of the election of officers, reference was made to the invaluable services rendered to the Club by Mr J. B. Ward who has been associated with the Club since its formation. On the motion of Mr Osmers seconded ;by Miss Halliday and supported by other speakers it was unanimously agreed that Mr J. B. Ward he elected a life member of the Club as a slight recognition of his services.
The opening day was fixed for Saturday, November 10th, and a hearty invitation is extended to all other club members to be present. A summary of matters of interest to the Court, as embodied in the annual was left for the action of the incoming Committee.
A hearty vote of thanks to the Chair terminated the meeting.
