A DAILY MESSAGE
THOU SHALT HOT BEAR FALSE WITH ESS.
“ Tnou shall not hear false witness.” What: a. wonderful world it would he if we did not! Bui most of us do -
not always maliciously, hut just as falsely as if maliciously. When we hear something tie regal ory of our neighbour, do we stop to learn whether it is true?
Not a hit of it ! We run off and peddle the “hearsay” up and down t.e street, twenty persons are slandering one winy may he innocent because wo have honie false witness against
our neighbour. “ Thou shall not bear.ilalso witness.” Yet the moment we’hear some ugly rumour, off we go. “ Have you hoard the news about--? Isn’t ( it terrible? 1 feel sorry lor her husband and the children, ole.” You wretched old humbug! II you felt sorry you’ll have kept your wicked old mouth shut. “Tliou shall not hear false witness.” Oli, yes, we all subscribe to the principle, hut not one in ten has made it a part of his working creed. “ Tliou shaitiiot hear I also witness. 1 '
