RIFLE SHOOTING.
N.S.W. RESULTS. (Australian Press Association). (United Service). SYDNEY, October 10. At the rifle meeting in the Jamieson match (800 yards), two men, Poyitt (Sydney) and Hutchins (Yorkshire), with the possible, shared first place. -Melver (Petone) nad Vennell (Masterton) were sixteenth and thirtieth, respectively, each 48, taking £l. In the Johnnie Walker match (900 yards) three competitors, James, Cameron and Snttor (all of N.S.W.) tied with 49. Vennell was ' eighty-sixth, and Alclver ninetieth, each with 44, taking £1 each. In the Alotton match (400- yards), four tied with, 49, the best being Davies (Victoria) and Natt (South Australia). There were no New Zealanders. ' The Longfield aggregate was won by James (Parramatta), with 276 out of a possible 300. The first stage of the King’s Prize ’.natch is being fired to-day. The range to-day was occupied with the first stages of the King’s Prize match of three, five and six hundred yards. A moderate to gusty right, bout wind caught many even experiniced shots napping. The scores will not be ready until late. in the Longfield aggregate, which was for six matches on Monday and Tuesday, Vennell came (fourteenth with 269, taking £4. The Dodds -aggregate for three matches on Tuesday was won by Major Janies, of Concord, with 141. Alclver was twentieth with 136, and 'Vennell fifty-first with -133, each taking £1 .
