THE PORTUMNA FIRE
VISCOUNT LASCELLES’ INTIMATION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph-Copyright). (Received this day at 9.25. a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 10. Viscount Lascelles has intimated to the Free State Government that Princess Mary and he deeply regretted, even indirectly, causing suffering te-am-one in Ireland, and therefore hoped a way would be found whereby no vindictive action would be taken against the misguided persons suspected of starting the fire at Portumnn. These persons might have considered Lascelles visit had a political significance.
