Among, her passengers will be several German Ministers, including Herr Von Guerard, the Minister of Cbnnnunications,' Ur Drzesinski, the Prussian Alinister for the Interior; Major Bramjbenburg, the Permanent Secretary for Air. • The fare from Friedrichshaven to New York has been fixed at £6OO. Seventeen passengers have received berths up to the present. CHANNEL AERIAL FARES REDUCED. LONDON, Oct. 6. The Imperial Airways announce an immediate reduction of the cross channel air fares from London to Paris. The single first-class fare is reduced from 115 s 6d to 955, and the second , from 94s 6d to 755. Nine years ago the single London to Paris fare was 4205.' The London to Brussels fare is reduced from 100 s to 70s
. WILKINS’ DEPARTURE. FOR THE ANTARCTIC RIO DE JANIERO, Oct. 5. The- explorer,' Wilkins, has arrived here on the “Southern Cross.” He declared that he would embark on the Norwegian whaler “Hectora” at Mon to Video, and would proceed immediately to Deception Island to establish his first -base, where lie will assemble his planes. Wilkins said that his expedition will be perfectly organised. He is confident of success. .* .He says a powerful radio will be established at one base to keep in touch •with'the expedition and report to the outside world.
