BANKING WITH CANADA. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 10.30. a.m.) OTTAWA, Sept. 25. The Department of Trade and Commerce has received a cable from D. H. Riss (Canadian Trade Commissioner at Melbourne) stating Australian banks including, '.the Commonwealth, after resisting for years, have agreed to open accounts for all overseas banks as from September 29th. A Montreal banker says this means that all banking with Canada will he done direct instead of through London.

MEXICAN PRESIDENCY. ANOTHER YEAR FOR, CALLES. MEXICO CITY, September 25. Emilio Portes Gill was elected as Provisional President of Mexico, at a joint- session of the Senate a/nd Chamber of Deputies. His was the only 7 name proposed. The Congress ordered his popular Presidential election for the third Sunday in November, 1929.
