WEDDING BELLS
An exceedingly pretty wedding was solemnised at the Red Lion Hotel on Monday evening, the contracting parties being Henry Dalton MeManaway, eldest son of Mr H. MeManaway, ot Wellington, and Lorna Mabel McIntosh, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs J. J. Mclntosli, of Hokitika. The Rev. J. Hayward officiated. The bride who entered the room on the arm of her father looked very sweet in a frock ,of eau-de-nil chaimeuse, the skirt .being trimmed with dainty pink and mauve motifs. Her tulle veil, which formed the train was arranged with a circlet of pink and mauve flower's and she carried an artistic mufti-coloured bouquet -with . blue streamers. " The bridesmaid in attendance was , Miss Alva Mclntosh (sister of the bride) who was particularly charming in Japonica pink georgeuse inset with silver lace and she carried a beautiful bouquet to tone. She wore a Juliet cap of pink tulle.. Mr Richard Perhatm carried out the duties of best man in a very able manner. Tlie bride’s mother wore an effective frock of black ' henriette under a smart fur coat and a model hat- to match. The guests were later entertained at the Soldiers’ Hall where the wedding feast was held and the usual toasts duly honoured in a very enthusiastic manner. The supper table was lavishly spread and did justice to those concerned. The hall was also gay With decorations. During the evening Misses Duff, Lynn and Mrs { Stoop rendered songs very effectively. After many musical items were accorded dancing was indulged in until an e*irly hour, the evening passing all . too quickly. The young couple left by train yesterday morning for Christchurch en route to Auckland, the bride wearing a navy blue three-piece suite and hat to match, also a beautiful fox fur the gift of the bridegroom. sMr and Mrs MeManaway were the recipients of many handsome and costly presents. . including cheques. "
GREYMOUTH WEDDINGS. The marriage was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church . Greymouth, yesterday, of)William Arthur, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Davy, High Street, Greymouth, and Ruth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Knight of Cobden. The Rev. J. A. Jermyn officiated. The britle who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a dainty ifrock of shell pink georgette, trimmed with a panel of silver lace. Her Weil of pink embroidered tulle fell from a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquetj of pink blossoms. The bridesmaid?! Miss Laurie Knight (sister_ of. . the bride), was attired in - blue geor- , gette, with a bandeau of blue tulle, carried a bouqUet of flowers to tone. The two little flower girls,-Edith Davy (sister " of the bridegroom) and Mito Girven, wore mauve frocks, with tulle caps, and carried baskets of spring flowers. Mr George Hearn cairied out the duties of best man.
A pretty wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Greymouth, yesterday morning' the contracting parties being Francis Eric, second son of Mr and Mrs T. G. Kitchingham, Roddytown, and Phyllis Gladys, second daughter of Mrs J. Watson Albert Street Greymouth. The - Rev. J. A. Jennyn officiated. The bride who was given away- (by her grandfather, Mr R Roth well, was attired in biscuit crepe-de-chine, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of freesias and maiden hair fern. Miss Ivy-Kitchingham (sister of the bridegroom), who acted as bridesmaid, wore pink «,crepe-de-chine, with hat to match, and carried a posy of sweet peas. Hie best man was Mr W. Fairhall, Mr T. Crankshaw presided at the organ. After the ceremony, the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s mother. Mr and Mrs Kitchingham left by the express for Ashburton, the bride travelling in a costume of beige repp with a fur, and hat to match. ‘ .
