A Christchurch paper says the date of the general election has not yet been announced, but the general opinion in the Parliamentary lobbies Is that it will be held on Wednesday, November 21st. Assuming that the session ends in a fortnight, as is considered likely, it would give the candidates sufficient time to conduct their campaigns. Moreover, an election on November 21 would not interfere with Christmas shopping to any extent. Already there are 185 candidates in the field and the parties are busy with the work of selecting others. Probably when nominations close it will be found that over 200 candidates will go to the poll. Brighten your homes with “Quaker Pelt Rugs,” with the new “ Accolac ” finish.
