A SAWMILL FIRE

HEAVY LOSS. (By Telegraph—-Prows Association). DARGAVLLLE, Sept. 24. 41. S. Anderson’s sawmill, one of the only two remaining mills in the district, was totally destroyed by lire, which broke out about noop on Monday. The planing mill attached, was saved after a strenuous fight by the Brigade. The origin of the outbreak is not known, as no one had been on the premises since about noon on Saturday. The mill and plant were insured in the British Traders Office for £2,900. The plant, however, is a valuable one and Air Anderson will be a very heavy loser. The Brigade made a good save of the adjoining railway buildings, also large stacks of valuable timber in the mill yards. A very high wind was blowing at the time, and made the firemen’s work pa rt icula rI y di IB cult.
