ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 20.
.At Addington Sale yesterday prices 1 were linn, except for pigs which showed an easing us ugafnst last week. Fat Cattle.—There was a slightly larger yarding but it was not sufficient for requirements. Tho demand was firm, and thero was ail increase in price all round. Heavy selected steers £l9 10s to £22 ,17s fid, extra to £2O 7s (id, prime £l6 15s to £lB 10s, medium £1.4 us to £ls 15s, light £ll 10s to £l3 17s 6d. Heifers sold: Heavy £ls to £l6 15s, special to £l7 17s 6d, prime £l4 to £ls 10s, medium £ll 15s to £l3 6s, light £7 .10s to £lO 10s. Cows sold: Heavy £l4 to £ls 10s, extra to £lB 17s od, prime £l2 to £l3 15s, medium £lO 10s to £ll 10s, light £8 5s to £9 10s old sorts from £6 15s.
Fat Sheep.—There was a moderate yearding mostly of wetliors. The demand was firm for ibest quality. Medium sorts were slightly easier. Best heavy wetliors sold to 53s 7d, prime wethers 40s to 48s, medium 36s to 395. plain 32s to 355, shorn wethers 27s to 35s lOd, best heavy ewes to 47s 4d. prime ewes 38s 4d to 435, medium prime 33s to 375, plain to 38s. Storo Sheep.—Very few hoggets yarded, but the entry sold up to late rates, there being very little variation. Hnlfiired ewe hoggets sold at 335,; nondescript 28s •'three-quarter, bred ewe hoggets 36s fair 27s 6d to 30s 6d. There was a small catalogue of ewes and lambs, which\ met a ready market. Aged sorts-fetched 19s (all counted). 'Crossbreds eiyes in lamb sold at 39s Id, half and crossbred owes with lambs sold to 20s lOd all counted. Fat Tigs.—There was a largo yarding. Pork was elightly easier than last week. There was a medium entry of bacon,, which also was easier, there being an excess yarding of choppers. Light pork sold at 38s to 4-ls, medium 42s to 495, heavy 51s to 655, the average price being 7d to 8d per lb. Light bacon sold from £3 5s to £3 12s 6d medium £3 15s to £4, heavy £4 5s to £4 15s, extra to £5 2s. The average price was C)d to 7d, per lb. Choppers sold from 35s to £6 ss.
