The Swedish steamer Hygnern, of 4,000 tons, was severely damaged on the rocks at Gage roads, Fremantle Harbour. There is ten feet of water in some of the holds. The rudder has been-, carried away and the propellor bent. 1

The New South Wales fanners, in a plebiscite, have decided against a Wheat Pool or a Marketing Board, which was projected under the marketing clause of the Primary Products Act. COMMERCIAL BANK. SYDNEY, Sept. 19. The Commercial Bank during the half year up to June 30th last, made a. profit of £965,525. The Chairman Sir Robert Gibson, regards the Bank’s prospects as bright, owing to there being indications of a favourable season facing the primary producers.
