Department of Agriculture has announced that 'tho American New Guinea expedition, whoso venture was cabled An April 23rd, departed from Port Moresby on September 10th, after having collected 137 varieties of sugar cane in New Guinea, including one variety that prove?' to be a new species. It is a hard, straight cane growing to a height of thirtythree feet. Cuttings are being shipped to Washington, under refrigeration, for growth under observation. Duplicate cuttings are being planted at Sydney, as a precaution against loss during shipment.

Friends of Miller are unable to advance a reason for the presumed murder. They declare he was well known and popular.
