PARLIAMENT

(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, Sept. 14. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The Statutory Land Charges Registration Bill was put through its final stages and passed with amendments made by the Statutes Revision Committee.

Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Bill and Auctioneers Bill were received from the House, read a first time and a second time pro forma and referred to Statutes Revision Committee and Stock Committee respectively.

After giving a number of bills their second reading,, the Council adjourned at 3.8 until to-morrow.

THE HOUSE. The House of Representatives spent fim afternoon discussing the report of flio Committee which recommended some relief he given under heavy traffic regulations. At the evening sitting, the Prime Minister moved the second reading of ■the Licensing Amendment Bill, and after a debate lasting till 2 a.in. the second reading was agreed to and the House rose at 2 a.rn. till 2.30 p.m.
