After, a lengthy discussion on the second reading of the London and jNew Zealand Bank Bill it was read a second time and referred to a special committee. 7 , TJie Post amP--Telegraph Bill was also read a second time. | THE JhOUSK. Th-o,House of Representatives spent the afternoon discussing the annual peport of the Equation Department, which, was laid on the table. At the evening sitting, Sir Joseph Ward look his sejat for the first time tliis session. LICENSING AMENDMENT. By the Governor-General's message, the Licensing Amendment Bill was introduced and read, a first time. Sir Coates said the Bill was on practically similar lines to last, session’s Bill, with certain amendments previously agreed to. The-Motor Vehicles Insurance Third Party Risk Bill was introduced, and read a first tine. SUMMER TIME.
The Committee appointed to cou•sidcr the Summer Timo -Bill reported that the Bill bo not- allowed to proceed, hut that the Government be recommended to bring down a Bill this session uniformly advancing standard, time, by half an hour commencing from 16th October to the
second Sunday in March. The report was adopted, without division, and the House rose at 1.9 a.m. till 2.3!) p.m.
