Hubert' Algar Storey, aged 21, appeared at Bow Street on a provisional warrant charging him with. murder of Frederick Charles AValter', some time in June, when scrub cutting at Bongee, Queensland. ( Storey pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody, for a week. Meanwhile the police are communicating with Queensland for further identification data. Inspector Humphries gave evidence that on sth September with two sergeants lie hoarded the Sydic at Gravesend, and interviewed the accused. AYitncss said he had a warrant for the arrest of James Morris Kelly, for the murder of Fredrick Charles AValter in Queensland; Accused denied everything and said lie had migrated to Australia in July, 1925. He did all sorts of work including scrub cutting, and was at Cowrie, New South AVales, more than a year ago. He denied having known or heard of AValter or used the name of Kelly. He was in Sydney in June .and part of July. Humphries was of opinion that Storey was identical with Kelly. AVlien charged Storey declared: “You have made a mistake.” Storey from tho dock said; “I will have no trouble ill proving I am Storey from Kentishtown. I do not ear anything from Sydney.” AAralter was also a migrant. Tho ast record at Australia House was .lin’d years ago/..when Storey was vorking oil a farm near Inverall, New >outh AVales.
