ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 5. At Addington yesterday there was a goofi entry and prices were firm. There was a good yarding. The market was steady at late rates. Heavy steers sold at £lB 10s to £2l 15s, extra heavy to £2B 7« Od, prime £IG los to £lB, medium £l4 10s to £ls 15k, light £lO los to £l2 15s, heifers, heavy to £l4 os to £ls los, extra to £l7 2s 6d, prime- £l2 los to £l3 10s. medium £lO 10s to £ll los, light £8 los to £10; cows, heavy £l4 4s to £ls 10s, extra to £l6 17. s fid, prime £ll 10s. to £l4 os, medium £9 10s to £lO 10s, light £7 10s to £8 15s. Mutton—There was a smaller yarding, and a firmer demand for the best quality. Extra heavy ewes sold to 51s Id, prime ewes 41s to 565, medium 37« Gd to 40s. light and plain to 355, short ewes 27s lOd to 33s 4d, extra heavy ewes to 43s 7d, prime ewes 34s to 395, medium 28s to 335, light or plain to 25s lOd, inferior to 21s.
Store sheep—There was u small yarding. With few exceptions the entry comprised nondescript lots, but prices were firm for all lots. Eat pigs—There was a good yarding and prices were firm at late rates. Light porkers sold at 30s to 355, medium 37s to 455, heavy 47s to 555, etxra heavy to £3 ss. The average price was 7d to B<l per lb. Light bnooners fetched £3 10s to £3 15s, medium £3 18s to £4 ss. heavy £4 IQs to £5. extra to £5 10« Gd. The average price was Gd to 7jd per lb. Choppers •sold at 35s to £2.
