In all, since 1916, the National War Funds Council h.W advanced £3,690 36s lOd to the local fund, which suggests that the local committee took a wise step in associating itself with the National Fund.

and so ensured a measure of relief which would not otherwise have boon available. Relief is now restricted to those suffering from war disabilities, and advances by way of loan have now ceased, in order to conserve the' funds for those who are suffering as a result ol war services. The local committee also attends to all pension cases brought under its notice, and in that respee't has been helpful to many applicants.
