Alex Burr, licensee of Huapai Hotel was fined the minimum of £2O on each of four charges of selling liquor not true to label. On four similar charges, John G. McGregor pleaded not guilty. The defence was a denial of adulteration. There had been trouble with an employee, since dismissed. When lie heard the samples had boon taken McGregor went to the Health Department and stated there had been a frame up. Decision was reserved.
BREACH OF REGULATIONS. WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. Two Chinese were each fined £5 for breach- of the regulations in regard to packing of vegetables for market. In this case they topped off sacks of cabbages.
