MAORI HAKA.
A PPP. ECIATIVK SCOTT fSIT SCHOOLBOYS. LONDON, July 13. It was an unrehearsed incident in the visit of the New Zealand howls party to Dumfries ‘(Scotland) that gave the visitors most pleasure (says the Dumfries “Standard”). While ' they were passing on their way from the station to the Town Hall for a civicreception, a number of the boy pupils of the Academy recognised the visitors and gave them a hearty cheer. The New Zealanders, in return for the compliment, gave the boys one of the treats of their lives. They formed up on the lawn in front of tlie school buildings and gave an exhibition of the Maori war dance, with its wild accompaniment of war whoops. Needless to say the hoys were delighted with their entertainment. A letter of appreciation was drawn by two of their number and forwarded to the president of the New Zealanders, and it was read at the civic luncheon.
