WEDDING BELLS
AITKEN—BEADLE.
A very pretty evening wedding was solemnised at Knox Church, Inglewood, on August 23rd, the contracting parties being Eileen Nonna. efdesl daughter of Mrs and the late Mr G. E. Beadle, of Inglewood, and .fames Alexander, eldest son of Air and Mrs A. Aitken, Christchurch. Rev. J. Chartcris was officiating clergyman at a fully choral service and Mr 0. Stoddart presided at the organ. The Church was very tastefully decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride, the colour scheme being pink and white. The bride, who entered
the Church on the arm of her uncle, Mr R. E. Beadle, of Wanganui, looked charming in a French model frock of ivory georgette, beaded in silver and trimmed with gold ribbon loses. Her veil, which was of hand embroidered Brussels lace, was held in place by ft coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of spring flowers and maiden hair fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Gwen Beadle, of Inglewood, who wore a frock of sea green georgette trimmed in silver, and her cousin. Miss Eileen Beadle, of Wanganui, who wore a frock of lavender georgette and silver lace. Both wore tulle veils with bandeaux of silver leaves and carried shower liouquets to match their frocks. Mr Alexander Aitken, of Christchurch, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man, and Air Rovle Beadle, Inglewood, brother of the bride, was groomsman. After the ceremony, about 100 guests were entertained at a reception held in the Church Social Hall, which was very prettily decorated for the occasion in pink and white. Airs Beadle received her guests in a frock of navy blue serge with fox fur and navy hat, and Mrs Aitken (mother of the bridegroom) also wore navy blue with hat to match and a fox fur. The wedding cake was the gift of Air G. A'oung. of Inglewood, and was much admired by the guests. After the usual toasts had been honoured, the song “Afotintain Lovers” was rendered by Air L. Tv oh n of Inglewood, the encore number being “Nirvana.” The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a fox fur, and to the bridesmaids a string of pearls. After the reception, Air and Airs Aitken left by car for the south, the bride travelling in a frock of fawn crepe-de-cheno and coat of ehnnnalaine. with hat and shoes to/tone. 'I he young couple were the recipients oi many beautiful arid useful presents, including several cheques.
