The preparation of Parliamentary lists, which will include electors totalling 26,750,000, including 5,245,000 women, to whom by recent Act of Parliament the franchise has been extended, is involving heavier work than was anticipated, and the customary period allowed for carrying it out will probably he extended. The new lists will, however, be completed in ample time for the General Election, which ft is expected will take place about the middle of next year. HEAVY DEATH DUTIES. TOBACCO MAGNATE’S ESTATE. RUGBY, August 23. An estate valued at £10,000,000, “as far as at present can bo ascertained,” has been left by Sir George Wills, formerly President of the Imperial lohaeco Company. The Government will benefit, on this valuation to the extent of £4,000,000 in death duty.
