Australian Press Assn.—United Service NEW YORK, Aug. 14. Hunter threw a bombshell into the amateur tennis ranks l>y stating that lie would not play in the annual East v. AYest matches at Forest Hills on Friday and Saturday unless Tilden is invited to play, and accepts. It is reported that Tilden lias not been invited to play in view of his difficulties <4 standing, and of a fear that the Association may lie accused of using a “box office” player to increase tlie receipts, if Tilden is suspended on August 24tli.
