THURSDAY, AUGUST 16th. (Before \V. Meldrum, Esq., S.AI.) LICENSING ACT. On charges of being on licensed premises unlawfully after hours, convictions were recorded as follows: One offender (Red Lion Hotel) to pay costs 10s, one (Commercial Hotel) to pay costs 10s, one (Commercial Hotel) £2 and costs 10s. UNLIGHTED CAR. A. Munton, charged with leaving an unlighted car unattended, was convicted and fined 5s and costs 10s. WANDERING CATTLE. Borough Inspector (Air Park) v. H. Sweney, a charge of allowing three cows to wander. Fined 10s and costs 20s 6d. Same v. T. Moynihnn, 1 horse. Fined 10s and costs 20s 6d. Same v. G. AV. Dale, 1 horse. Case dismissed, defendant denying ownership. MOTOR. REGULATIONS. A. J. Sloss, .Motor Inspector (Mr Park) v. M. H, Houston, a charge of allowing his motor car to stand on the wrong side of the road. Fined 10s and costs 28s 2d. BREACH OF REGULATIONS. Registrar of Electric AViremen (Mr Park) v. D. J. McGill, with having carried out electric wire work, not being duly licensed. Defendant pleaded guilty. Mr Park said only a nominal penalty was asked for. Convicted and ordered to pay costs 20s 6d. DEBT CASES. AVm. Jeffries (Mr Elcock) v. Thomas Lambcrton and J. Lawn. Claim ;or £lO9 Bs. Judgment for amount claimed less £SO paid, with costs £6 11s (id. Evidence was taken in a claim by Vacuum Oil Co., (Mr Park) v. Robert On- (Air Elcock) for £7 16s, which defendant claimed was ordered and used bv tlie Pipe Timber Coy. Ltd.
