EUCHARISTIC CONGRESS.
CHURCH DIGNITARIES EX ROUTE. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 11. Several prominent dignitaries of the Roman Catholic Church will arrive from Vancouver hy the Niagara on Alonday, on their way lo the Eucharistic Congress at Sydney. The party will include Bishop Heylen. of Namur, president of the Permanent Committee of the International Eucharistic Congresses, and Count H. d’Yanville. of Paris, permanent secretary of the Congresses. Also travelling on the Niagara are Bishop Mikes, Count Zaltala and the Bishop of Szombathely (Hungary), Bishop Descliamps, auxiliary Bishop of Montreal, Prince F. de Croy, Bishop of I.amy (France), thirteen priests and a number of lay people, who •are journeying to the congress. Prominent among the lay people js AI. Eugene Standert, a member representing Bruges in the Belgian Parliament. The party leaves for Rotorua on Wednesday morning, sailing from Wellington for Sydney by th<p Ulinmio on August 24. It is now definitely stated that Bishop Cleary will be unable to attend the Congress.
