DAIRY STOCK SALE AT HARIHARI On Saturday afternoon Messrs W. Jeffries and Co conducted a clearing sale of the whole of the live and dead stock of Mr T. Holley, who is leaving the district to settle in the North Island. There was a large attendance of buyers interested in dairy stock and as the herd in question had an excellent reputation, being mostly progeny of the well known Jersey bull Maori Majesty (Reg. No. 10283) it was anticipated to the cows would be well sought alter. This proved to be correct and competitions was animated from the first to last of the sale. Tbs milking stock was yarded in good condition and left nothing to be desired. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th calf cows made from £7 to £l4 10s, aged cows from £3 to £6. The following sales were made:-—One cow at £l4 10s, one at £l2 os, one at £l2 2s Od, one at £ll, two at £lO ss, one at £lO 2s 6d, one at £lO, two at £9 10s, one at £9 os, three at £9, two at £8 15s, one at £8 10s, two at £8 ss, five at £B, one at £7 10s, four at £7 ss, two at £7, two heifers at £6 10s, three at £6 ss, lour at £6, three at £5 10s, one at £5, two dry cows at £3 os, one bull at £5 los, one at £1 los. Chesnut mare £2O ss. Direct supply milking machine and Anderson engine £B6, separator £22. A large number, of pigs and poultry sold at excellent, rates and there was keen demand for the household furniture and effects, a total clearance being effected.
