By Telegraph—Press Assn., Copyright. DUNEDIN, Aug. 7. The criminal .sessions opened before Judge Ostler with eight eases for trial. There wore two sexual cases, three involving dishonesty, two assault cases and one of manslaughter against Tlios Smith Carruth. In tho latter case, a lorry was left on the road at Poolburn at night without lights, with iin eighteen foot ladder sticking out behind. A motor cyclist, without lights and travelling at a. high speed struck has head on it and was killed almost immediately. No bill was returned against Carruth. Prisoners were sentenced as follows: Walter R. Sanders, 29, for arson, who, it was stated was seriously ill, to three years’ probation.
