LONDON, July 16., In the Commons, Air Ormsby Gore informed Mr Hainnon that the Empire Marketing Board’s operations were limited by the . terms of the Parliamentary vote to publicity on behalf of Empire products in Britain. Its activities did not embrace manufacturers. In view of tliese limitations, Mr Amery said he would hesitate to call a conference of municipalities and ■Chambers of Commerce, aiming at joint publicity efforts. The terms of the Parliamentary vote had been settled after consultation with the Dominion Prime Ministers. The Government did not feel at liberty to depart from the arrangements /lending next Imperial Conference. Air Alexander: “Could not the results be improved by asking the Dominions to reduce tariffs against Bntain?” TKere was no answer.
